Golden Latte @ Milk & Honey
I’ve been curious to try golden milk for some time now, just haven’t gotten around to making my own. So this Golden Latte from Milk & Honey was the perfect way to try out the flavors and see if it’s something I want to start making at home.
“Coffee...a liquid hug for your brain.”
I’ve been curious to try golden milk for some time now, just haven’t gotten around to making my own. So this Golden Latte from Milk & Honey was the perfect way to try out the flavors and see if it’s something I want to start making at home. They use a turmeric spice blend with cardamom, vanilla, cinnamon, their house nut milk and espresso. It was the perfect cup of comfort for a chilly, windy morning. I will certainly be making golden milk (with and without coffee) a part of my cold season ritual. Have you tried golden milk? Do you have a favorite recipe I should try?
Beehive Coffee Bar
A friend of mine had told me about the peanut butter latte months ago and I finally got around to giving it a try. It was WAY better than I had imagined! The nutty flavor of the peanut butter was perfect with the espresso and the touch of honey made it a perfect afternoon treat!
Skip Starbucks, and support South Asheville’s cute neighborhood coffee bar. My personal favorite drink is the peanut butter latte with almond milk. To eat, I love the coffee cake and the protein energy bites. They also have a lot of gluten-free options as well as cheddar biscuits. Sit inside amongst the adorable, old, eclectic memorabilia or sit outside if the weather’s nice.

Milk & Honey
With a busy afternoon planned, this nourishing salad from @milkhoneyorganiccafe and jun (known as the “champagne of kombucha”) from @shantielixirs is just the thing to fuel me until dinnertime.
Milk & Honey in South Asheville is serving up local, organic, and delicious food. They also use free range and grass-fed meat and sell artisanal products and baked goods. And I can't not mention their refreshing cold pressed juices and superfood smoothies that will give you the fuel you need to get through the day.
Things to consider:
Gluten free & dairy free options are available
Plenty of seating, so large parties won't have a problem.
Vegetarian and vegan options galore
Pictured above is the Nourishing Salad and to drink, the Jun (known as the “champagne of kombucha”). This salad is simple, straightforward and definitely something I will recreate at home. Massaged kale, chopped romaine, cucumbers, shredded carrots, avocado, smoked salmon, topped with hemp seeds and a lemon tahini vinaigrette. A great combo for a simple summer dinner that can be thrown together in a flash!
Pictured below is their avocado toast: whole smashed avocado, pickled red cabbage, House aioli, and chives. I switched the multigrain toast out for gluten free toast.
Paired with the toast is Milk & Honey’s “Golden Latte” made with their organic coffee, turmeric spice blend, and raw honey. #yum
