L27 Rooftop Lounge
Beautiful pool, gorgeous view of the city, and their signature cocktails, which change with the season, are always delicious.
This may be my favorite rooftop lounge in Nashville, and it might be everyone else’s too, because it’s always busy. I highly encourage making reservations (through Resy). This rooftop is 27 floors up atop the Westin Hotel downtown. They have indoor and outdoor seating and a great view of their beautiful pool and of course a gorgeous view of the city skyline. Their signature cocktails change with the season and are always delicious. They also serve small plates and entrees if you’re hungry.

Prince's Hot Chicken Shack
Prince’s Hot Chicken Shack in downtown has 8 levels of heat to choose from and is right beside Yee Haw Brewing, so you can wash it all down with a cold beer.
Prince’s Hot Chicken Shack is better than Hattie’s B’s. No… Hattie' B’s is better than Prince’s! This is the fight Nashvillians always have, and I don’t think it will ever be resolved. You can try both and decide for yourself! Below are the Chicken Tenders with a side of fries from Prince’s.
Prince’s has two locations in Nashville, one in Downtown Nashville and one in South Nashville. I always go to the one Downtown, which is their food truck which is parked right next to Yee Haw Brewing Company. What’s better than a beer and some fried chicken? When the weather’s nice, they have a huge courtyard where you can sit and enjoy your meal.
You have 8 flavors to choose from at Prince’s:
Plain
Light Mild
Mild
Medium
Hot
XHOT
XXHOT
XXXHOT
I got the medium, but we also tried the XXHOT just for fun, hehe. I love hot stuff, and the XXHOT was definitely hot but it wasn’t unbearable. I wouldn’t ever want to get it again, though.

The Montford Rooftop Bar
Located in downtown Asheville, it’s one of our favorite spots to take in the mountain views, enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail and get a bite to eat.
Stopped by The Montford Rooftop Bar on an unusually warm winter night just in time to watch the sun go down! Located in downtown Asheville, it’s one of our favorite spots to take in the mountain views, enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail and get a bite to eat. Enjoy the free valet (we always give a few dollars tip, though). To get to the rooftop, walk in the entrance of the Hyatt Place Asheville/Downtown, and take the elevator to the left. Don’t forget to get a parking voucher from your server to give to the valet guy.

Battery Park Book Exchange Champagne Bar
My winederlust took me to one of my favorite spots today: The Battery Park Book Exchange Champagne Bar in downtown Asheville in the Grove Arcade.
My winederlust took me to one of my favorite spots today: The Battery Park Book Exchange Champagne Bar in downtown Asheville in the Grove Arcade.
Not only do they have champagne, but they also have a long list of wine, food, beer, and coffee. It’s easy to spend hours looking around all the nooks and crannies at books or settling into a comfy spot to drink and eat. This spot always impresses any out of town guests we have over and is a perfect, cozy place to escape the cold.
Things to consider:
During peak days/hours it can get crowded, so larger groups may find it difficult to find seats (you can always try your luck though!)
Order at the bar first, then find a seat
Take your time finding a seat! Explore all the twists and turns of the place.
If you find yourself downtown and want a place to cozy up, try the Champagne Bar!

They import their cacao from small farmers and then finish the process carefully and thoroughly in their factory here in Asheville. I’ve never gone to French Broad and not stood in a long line that runs out the door, because it’s that good! While the line may be long, it moves quickly and is always worth it. I recommend the truffles, cookies, chocolate cake, carrot cake… and, um, basically everything. It’s all good. I usually go for dark chocolate truffles, but they had some special Holiday flavors so I snagged an Eggnog and a Carrot Cake truffle. I unconsciously took a bite of the Carrot Cake before I snapped the photo! #oops

Today’s beautiful wine flight comes from Santé Wine Bar and Tap Room located in the Grove Arcade in downtown Asheville. If I’m in the mood for a nice glass of wine (or four 😏) Santé is at the top of my list. Each month, they have a unique wine flight available, they are somehow never too crowded, and their pizza (and all their food actually) never disappoints. And beer lovers, don’t worry! They also serve local and imported brews. In the nice weather months, they have a cute outdoor area open where you can watch the people and cars pass by.

Conveniently located on Charlotte Street, The Waterbird serves coffee, cocktails, breakfast, lunch, and dinner! We went around 9am for coffee and breakfast. My husband ordered a mocha (pictured) and I ordered an oat milk latte. I ordered a side of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon and Tyler got a bacon, egg, and cheese on gluten free focaccia bread. They also had bagels, English muffins, croissants, and biscuits. We enjoyed everything... especially the bright blue decor, natural lighting, and trendy vibe! Go check it out!

Posana Restaurant
If you’re roaming around downtown Asheville and want a local farm-to-table experience with fresh ingredients, check out Posana. They also happen to make one of the best kale salads ever!
If you’re roaming around downtown Asheville and want a local farm-to-table experience with fresh ingredients, check out Posana. They have a cozy indoor space or if you’d rather experience all of the action downtown has to offer, choose a table on the outside patio.
I think kale gets a bad rap. I used to not like it either. However, now I. am. addicted. It’s all about how it’s prepared and what goes in it. Some places know how to do it, others do not. Posana in downtown Asheville knows.
This was my first time trying their kale salad and it will definitely be one of my go-to places to get one from now on. Their chiffonade technique is on point (the trick to kale is to cut it very thinly) and the combination of toasted pumpkin seeds, currants, Three Graces Dairy manchego style cheese, lemon, and Theros olive oil was divine.
We only stopped by for an appetizer and a drink, but I can’t wait to go back and try everything on the menu. It all sounded so good.
Some things to consider:
Posana, surprisingly for its location, is never too crowded. We’ve never had to wait for a table, but for peak times/nights/large groups you can call ahead to make a reservation or make a reservation on their website.
It can get loud on the patio due to all the foot traffic, so keep that in mind.
Its quality location and local food bump up food/drink prices a bit
They have a great selection of mocktails for non-drinkers (you can also turn the mocktails into cocktails…just sayin’)

High Five Coffee
Looking for a place downtown to sip a cup of coffee next to some beautiful succulents in an inviting yet modern atmosphere? Look no further! High five coffee is where you need to be.
Looking for a place downtown to sip a cup of coffee next to some beautiful succulents in an inviting yet modern atmosphere? Look no further! High five coffee is where you need to be. High five has two downtown locations. There is one located right next to the Rankin Parking Garage (which is free for the first hour) and it's a bit smaller, but there's usually always sitting room, and I like grabbing a seat by the window if I can (pictured above). Then over the street and down the way there is another high five located on Broadway, and it's a bit bigger and provides outdoor seating. Both serve exceptional coffee and are my go-to places when I want a cup of joe. They also serve sandwiches, pastries, and other bites to eats if you're hungry.
Things to consider:
-For Rankin location, park in Rankin parking garage (free for one hour)
-Their Broadway location has its own parking lot across the street from their café (also free)
-Since they're making a quality cuppa, you will have to wait a few minutes for your order

Today’s beautiful concoction comes from Social Lounge in downtown Asheville. My husband and I love to stop by here for a drink, because the bartenders are always friendly, and if you don’t know exactly what you want, they’ll create something special just for you. They serve cocktails, beer, and wine plus some delicious food.
Things to consider:
They have seating areas upstairs and downstairs along with a cozy rooftop bar
They serve food from the restaurant next door, Strada, and have brunch on Saturday and Sunday
Their place is deceivingly spacious inside, so if you have a larger group, they can usually accommodate. I find that they are never overly crowded as some places in Asheville can get.
Today I ordered the “Buttercup” (pictured above). This drink includes their house infused vanilla vodka, pineapple, lemon, cinnamon, and rosemary. It was strong, sweet (but not too sweet) and delicious. I will definitely be back for another!

Sunset Cocktail Terrace at the Grove Park Inn

Ah... one of my favorite places in Asheville: the Sunset Cocktail Terrace at the Grove Park Inn. If you're feeling a little fancy and want a grand experience, just a few minutes downtown, away from the hustle and bustle of the city center, lies this oasis. There are multiple restaurants to choose from (some require reservations, others don't), but if you want a drink and/or app, the Sunset Cocktail Terrace is where you want to be.
Things to consider:
If you can get there for sunset (it will be crowded on certain days) it's extra beautiful, but honestly the view is breathtaking all day long.
Garage parking is free for the first 3 hours, so do that if you can. During certain holidays and special occasions they charge for parking, so call ahead if you have questions.
The sunset terrace is first come, first served
Drink prices are more expensive than usual... because, look at that view!
