This itinerary provides a detailed 2-day itinerary with links to all my favorite spots in Morganton, NC. Morganton is a quaint Southern town located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina, and it happens to be the town I grew up in. While it’s only an hour’s drive from the more popular city of Asheville, Morganton has plenty to offer on its own. It has restaurants that have been around for decades, nearby hiking trails, a winery, breweries, and cute coffee shops too. You’ll feel like you’re straight out of a Hallmark Movie here.
Notes: You’ll need a car to get around, especially if you decide to go hiking or visit the other cute nearby towns like Old Fort, Black Mountain, and Asheville.
